The champions league is underway, and the most unpredictable of tournaments is proving just that. Now I give you the winners and losers of Match day 1
Impressive Teams
Lyon: Very Impressive win over Madrid. I was wrong in saying that they would miss diarra
Man Utd: Showed a lot of grit in holding off celtic
Celtic: Showed a lot of fight, should easily get second in this group
Barcelona: Blowout of Levski, picking right up where they left off
Arsenal: Proved steven and I wrong (we both picked Hamburg)
Sporting Lisbon: Impressive win over an Inter team that Jose Mourinho says is the best in the world
PSV: Despite playing a very lackluster Liverpool team, they held their ground
Stuea Bucuresti: Won very impressively over Dynamo Kiev in a very tough stadium to play in
Disappointments
Real Madrid: Favored to beat Lyon, should still be Okay in a weak group
Liverpool: Came out completely flat. Benitez is out of his mind for not starting Gerrard (who almost won the game for them anyway)
Inter: Definately should have beaten Sporting, but as this team builds its chemistry, Watch Out
Well For Match day two My predictions were 4-4, and Steven's were 2-6 which brings the over all standings to:
Sam 10 correct 6 incorrect
Steven 7 correct 9 incorrect
Bad days for both of us, but I lead and hope to keep this lead without relinquishing it.
