Zidane, un Portrait du 21e Siècle
Zidane: A 21st Century Portrait is the 2006 product of directors Douglas Gordon and Philippe Parreno. Released in Spain and France, well Europe for that matter. Consisting of a 90+ minute games between Real Madrid and Villereal. 27 cameras focus on Zidane in a mix between sport and art documentary. This remake of Costard's 1971 "Football as Never Before" with Zissu taking place of George Best is seen as pale by some critics, but as with art films; the only way you know its good is if everyone hates it. I've heard about this...sounds pretty neat. They should have done the same thing for the Brazil/France game over the summer. Zidane was an absolute magician during that match, including that inch-perfect free kick that hit Henry on the back post...with Roberto Carlos of course nowhere to be found (hang it up, old man)
